Thanksgiving on Legends or Cook Till It Hurts :)

Thanksgiving afternoon on legends was an eventful one. EM Miko called all the cooks to Jhelom gate from there he whisked us off to Nujelm.  Once in Nujelm, EM Miko asked the cooks to make a Thanksgiving Feast for Legends Shard. The one main item we had to make was 50 pumpkin pies.  We could make any side dishes we wanted but had to make 50 of that side.  Also it was asked of Miko that we pick a Chef Gordon Ramsey.  There was one nomination for Anne Rice to be Chef Ramsey by Luxon. With orders given and a Chef Ramsey appointed off the cooks went to their baking.  Miko left the cooks to make the feast.  There were pies of all type and description, meats, and so much other food.  After a bit Miko return to take stock of what we made.  Anne gave a list of food: Pumpkin pie, miso aka dressing, wasabi aka cranberry sauce, and fish, cook birds aka Turkey, quiche, meat pies, and more.

Miko took note of the banquet and chefs that were left at the feast. Miko asked if we wanted to have a pie eating contest. The cooks were up for the task but needed a lot Pepta’s tonic which Mercel kindly handed out.  Mysteriously, pies began to disappear and not from the hungry cooks.  With the feast prepared and eaten, Miko decided we need to work of that huge meal.  So we went to Jhelom farms for a game.

Miko invited the whole shard to come join the game. We broke in to 2 groups, red and blue.  The object of the game was to see which team could wrangle and keep the most turkeys.  There were only 4 turkeys, 2 red and 2 blue.  After a long hard battle the blue team won.  With the night’s feast and the fatigue of the game wearing on everyone, we said our goodbye to head off to our respected houses.

PvP Arenas

November 22, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

Hello everyone!  Happy Holidays to all.  I just wanted to take a quick moment to point out the several Arenas that are now active all throughout Sosoria.  These arenas are used for PvP and there are several different types of rules and settings that you can choose when hosting a duel inside the Arena.  EM Miko has already taken advantage of the Arenas and hosted several PvP events in Legends and promises many more to come!  Watch for him in general chat or seek out the Arenas yourself if you wish to participate.  It’s a great and risk free way to learn how to PvP as there is no looting or insurance money lost when participating in these duels.  There is plenty of more in depth information posted within Stratics on these Arenas but I suggest you seek them out in game to learn what they are all about.  Here are a few more pics from some of the action that took place last night.

Legends Checkers Champion

November 20, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

A Legends Checkers Champion has been crowned.  A group of Legends players gathered in Jhelom to attend EM Miko’s checkers tournament .  It wasn’t long before only two players were left to square off for the title.  The Gods and Shumer played out their best strategies and in the end Shumer was victorious.  Miko crowned Shumer as champion and now we await a response from other shards who wish to challenge our newly crowned checkers champ.  Congratulations and good luck to Shumer.

Veil Of The Elder Savage Returned

November 05, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

Undead sightings all throughout Britannia, including an invasion within the walls of Luna, had most of players on Legends busy for the last several days.  Most of  the sightings were reported at cemeteries as Undead Savage Warriors gathered in small groups.

After several days of continued havoc a meeting was called by Lt. Lance Braddock at the Castle Britain.

Questioning and investigation quickly uncovered that the undead were a product of the unsettling of the Veil Of The Savage Mask.

Professor Higglebottom and a group of followers had taken the mask from an unknown cave just days before.  The mask, which is said to have the power of eternal life, needed to be placed back in its rightful spot to end the undead attacks.  A battle through Ilshenar led to a cave entrance close to where the mask had been taken from.

Once inside the cave the followers battled undead towards a large room where in the center the Veil once rested.  The undead were forced backwards and the mask was eventually placed into its original spot, a great cloud followed its placement.  With this task completed hopefully this is the last that we see of the undead for awhile.

The Higglebottom Studies

October 30, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

Those curious enough to investigate the many lanterns spread throughout Legends found themselves in Nujelm at Professor Higglebottom’s museum.  Higglebottom had succeeded on gathering a large number of followers for a task which would require just that.  Higglebottom explained to the crowd that the museum before them was a collection of his fathers findings and studies.  However, his father’s research was left unfinished and many artifacts have yet to be recovered but his father left behind a journal of his research.  He spoke of an ancient civilization that had hidden away an artifact of great strength.  The artifact is told to give its bearer the gift of eternal life.  To pick up where his father left off he asked the crowd to accompany him to a location where he thought this ancient artifact may be found.

The excursion began in an unknown location that appeared to be somewhere within the Lost Lands.  The group gathered around a camp fire then set off into a village occupied by a tribe of hostile savage warriors.  After advancing to the end of the village a hole leading underground was discovered.  As the darkness of the underground cave gave way to lit torches the group encountered two small passages swarming with savage warriors.  The only way to advance further was to confront the warriors and the group slowly pushed its way down the passages.  The losses on both sides quickly piled up but the group continued to slowly press forward.

Finally, the dark passage ways both ended in a large room.  Inside this large room one could see the artifact resting peacfully on a ritual table near the center.  As the group began to engulf the room several more defenders revealed themselves and the battle ensued.

It took a team effort to drop the final monsters and once the room was clear Higglebottom appeared and swept up the artifact, it was the very artifact that his fathers journal had told of.

The artifact has now found a new home in the museum.  I encourage everyone to visit the museum in northeastern Nujelm to see the current collection.  Higglebottom rewarded those in attendance with a sash to commemorate their bravery.  Before the night was over Higglebottom promised of more adventure once the pages of his fathers journal had been deciphered.  He also spoke of his assistant Pablo who had gone missing when he attempted to scout out the artifact days before.  If you have any information on the whereabouts or have seen Pablo I would report this to the Communications Center in Britain.

Strange Pumpkins Unleash Fury On Legends

October 25, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

There was a rather massive gathering of folks at the Jhelom pub last night.  Those who came had hoped to discuss some of the sightings of strange pumpkins that had been reported throughout the lands.  The discussion soon turned into an investigation and the investigation led to a rather shocking surprise!

Armondo Pascal led the crowd from the pub to the small island of Jhelom Farms where he pointed out some rather mysterious black pumpkins that were spread near the southern and western shores.  It wasn’t long before the crowd began to roam the small island, an island that was recently attacked by pirates, in search for some more clues.  Without warning a familiar but still rather mysterious figure appeared…the evil mage Lord Mordraith.  Before the crowd could comprehend the threat Mordraith presented he cast a Bal Thran scale into the water and the madness began.

An instantanious reaction had the small island crawling with pirate zombies, ghosts and skeletons of incredible strength.  One can only assume that these monsters were the fallen pirates who had been slain in their attempted invasion weeks before.  Just as the protectors seemed to be turning the tides on the invaders another wave would arise.  As the battle continued some monsters had alienated themselves by a showing of superior strength in both damage taken and damage unleashed with their vicious attacks.  These monsters were the  Enraged Pirate Zombies.

The defenders then began to organise their efforts and with a massive push of force they were able to drop several of the Enraged Zombie Pirates.  As the invaders were slain the mysterious pumpkins began to disappear and it was reported that one of the pumpkins unleashed a massive cloud shortly after one of the Pirates was destroyed.

The battle continued and several hours past as the night gave way to the early morning.  Finally the invaders numbers began to dwindle and the Island seemed to be safe once again although one black pumpkin still lingered.  Some time passed and the island remained quite but the lingering black pumpkin was under intense observation.  Without warning the undead attacked again.  This time a well organized defense swept through the island and the undead, along with the sole remaining black pumpkin, were vanquished from the island and peace was secured.  Rumours of loot found on the Pirate corpses began to circulate shortly after the final battle.  I was lucky enough to observe a few of the spoils that were gathered in by the victors as they proudly displayed their treasures.

October Pet Battles

October 20, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

October can be a busy month for many and it showed with the low numbers at this months pet battles but the die hard tamers still came out to rumble.  Six lined up to take part in the battles including the defending champion Lady Keeper of Dragons.

First up was Samson’s Mutten versus Lord Virgil’s The Underdog.  This battle took every last hit point to declare a winner and in the end it was Mutten who stood tall.

To my surprise Foo Fighter’s a BatOutaHell made quick work of Keeper’s Reptalon and just like that last months champ was knocked off.  The battle was followed by an extravagant display of fireworks!! Lady Wingfield brought along Fly Girl and a bit of a snag left her pitted against Mutten.  Mutten won again and earned himself a spot in the final battle.  With the low numbers Mutten and a BatOutHell were the last two left to scrap for the overall.

Samson’s Mutten took the win and was declared this months pet battles champion.  As the celebration began one more competitor came forward and was granted the chance to challenge Samson’s Mutton.  Mutton was already crowned champ but bragging rights were still up for grabs as Kulder escorted Godzilla into the ring.  Mutton affirmed his superiority and Godzilla was left lifeless in the end.  Samson won the right to choose next months pet and he decided on the Bane Dragon.  The fun wasn’t over yet and EM Helios invited the crowd to a rat wrangling.

The players scrambled to tame as many rats as possible in the short time limit.  Lady Keeper of Dragons taming experience showed as four rats lined up to obey her every command by the end.  Keeper was awarded with a nice rare gift and with that came an end to the October pet battles.

Khaldun Research

October 17, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

Even after so much information has been gathered deep from within Khaldun in recent weeks so many mysteries still surround the tomb.  Those who attended this past Sundays bookclub meeting were introduced with some new tasks that will hopefully help to spread knowledge and spark interest on Khaldun throughout Legends.

Those brave enough to venture down into the depths of Khaldun have been ask to find and record the scriptures and readings found on the several paintings and murals spread all throughout the tomb.  The locations of the paintings would also be a good source of knowledge to observe and report.  Along with the paintings it was also asked to take note of any other mysterious objects or findings within the walls of the tomb.  This could be anything that looks strange or out of place so be on guard and prepared to observe that which you may normally ignore.

From my own experiences of being deep withing the tomb I have found that it is best to keep a low profile.  This means the ability to stealth or a mage who can cast invisibility would be best suited as the monsters can overwhelm and surround victims rather quickly.  If you lack these skills then stock up on invisibility potions or make sure you only explore the tomb in large groups with healers and those who can resurrect.  I would also suggest that if you do try to gather a group you do not announce this to the mass of the population as murderers could be waiting if the wrong person were to hear of such an expedition.  If you are able to gather any of this information it has been asked that you record it into a book and drop a copy into the green mailbox found at the Communications Center in Trammel Britain next to the EM Hall.  I wish those who take this task upon themselves a safe return.

Sea Dragon Madness!

October 04, 2011 By: Jeriicco Category: Legends News

There was a good turn out at the meeting as warriors from all throughout Legends gathered at the pub.  Before the observations were to begin Armondo Pascal had some brief instructions for those who had gathered.  Armondo asked for everyone to quickly collect piles of snow and cream pies.  His theory was that the snow was to be used as some means of protection from the fiery dragon and the cream pies would be used to help feed the icey dragon.  After this discussion everyone headed to the dragons at Serpents Hold.

Shortly after the arrival the madness began.  It was very difficult to record the sequence of actions that took place but not to long after the players arrived some very dangerous spawns began to wreak havoc.  Enter the Mutant Sea Dragons!

These creatures came in large numbers, hit very hard with both magic and physical attacks, and had a very large amount of hit points making them difficult to kill.

Many of the players attacks were rendered useless as mages couldn’t cast in the town and warriors couldn’t stay alive long enough to get many strikes off as the beasts easily disposed of any in their proximity.  It was discovered that the cream pies and snow piles could be thrown at the mutants to cause some damage but again this was a risky task as one needed to be very close to cause harm with this attack.  It became very apparent that this would be a long battle that would require many if the players of Legends were to be successful.  There was no where to hide from the mutants as they covered both land and sea, could teleport from space to space, and even invaded those who attempted to attack from ships.

The mutants would leave behind a violent discharge as their life began to drop, this was similar to clouds seen from both the mythical sea dragons and the Bal Throns earlier in the event.  Throughout the madness the two fiery and icey sea dragons also began to attack players or the players began to attack them.  It was quite a scene as the fiery dragon jumped from the water and took the fight to land.

Despite several pleas from the sea dragon herders the mass of players killed the two young sea dragons.

After several hours of battle the mutants were finally destroyed.  It was difficult for many of the players to grasp a sense of achievement as the two young sea dragons were killed in the confusion.  Few, if any, of the questions surrounding the sea dragons were answered and several more mysteries have now arose.  It would be wise to report any and all information gathered to the Communication Center in Britain next to the EM Hall.  As the followers of Legends begin to sort out these recent happenings I suggest that everyone keep their eyes and ears open for any usefull facts or information.  Perhaps Armondo Pascal can help us understand what has taken place and where to go from here.
