Seven Year Old UO Player Creates A Garden

~ . ~

A couple of months ago I was riding through the forest and towns looking at plots and how the creative people of Great Lakes design. After seeing so many wonderful environments I sent out a call in general chat ( actually I sent the call out three days in a row ) to see if anyone wanted me to check out their talents. One of the first to reply was Lady ELSIE. She gated me to a lovely location to show off not her design but that of her seven year old grandchild that created her own garden. Kendra known as KJ in the realm is a perfect example that it is never too young to get them hooked on UO ! Congratulations Kendra on your efforts.

The Invasions and the new dungeon have kept so many of us busy. That is the reason for my tardiness in posting these glorious gardens. Below are a few more truly amazing gardens that people gated me to. Of course the holidays are in the air now and I will be on the lookout for winter and Christmas decorated plots. If you want me to visit your creation just drop a marked rune in my Luna Manse house mailbox and I will be sure to visit

• Town Social – Each governor, or their representative(s), will have a booth for half-an-hour. The governor may use that time
• to persuade people to join the town; to sell or give away food, drinks, or other inexpensive souvenirs; or to do magic tricks, fortune telling, etc.
• Tasty Treats Display & Auction – A skilled chef can decorate cakes, cookies, and pizzas. From now until two hours before the faire, players are invited to donate decorated delectables. The treats will be put on display during the faire. They will then be auctioned off by a capricious auctioneer, who does not care for gold, but will accept interesting assortments* of gems and granite. If you would like your dessert/pizza put on display but not auctioned, please put it in a bag with a rune to your mailbox.
• Buttercup Relay Race – Teams of three will compete.
• Maple Syrup Scavenger Hunt – You may search individually or as part of a group.

*Bid nominal quantities, please. The auctioneer will take whatever bid suits his fancy, rather than the highest bid.

MOA once again hosted a holiday player run event with style and filled with fun. This evening there was a Halloween event held that I first heard about last week from Wonder and Morpheus. They sent a pigeon my way with previews of the costumes they planned to wear to the MOA Halloween Spook Out. They made a great Wonder Woman and Thor. There were many good Halloween costumes and everyone was rewarded for their efforts. That gal about town Ang was clad in Minax Bone Armor rocking the sexy skel look. All that attended also received a goody bag with… yes,  candy. Also a little gold paper treat and a beautiful carved pumpkin and other items filled the bag.

DJ Scorp and crew did a top notch job as always. Even a few items hit the auction block including those creepy nasty good heads on a spike the kids are all raving about, a set of hammers, a bell deed and the rare drop, Ring of The Soulbinder.

Just when we thought the fun and games were over DJ announced a scavenger hunt Big Bang Theory/UO style. Alice was the winner taking first place, Storm Chaser second and Karek third.

GOF and the Governor’s of Yew, Moonglow and Britain Keep Halloween Going …

 

There is something about the change in the air, the change in the plant life and Halloween that gets people excited and gather together. Great Lakes has had an exciting October and that excitement continues with the 6th Annual Harvest Festival held at the Yew-Wood Forest Theatre. This year it is taking place on October the 23rd at 8PM Central Time. I have attended this event in the past and it is a good time, even though I never seem to win the costume contest though I try my hardest * laughs *. As in the past the night will be filled with games, fun and no doubt a little terror!

Then there is this little note that came my way from the Governor of Britain.

MOA for Halloween and GOF 15th Anniversary …..

MOA is dressed for the season. Once again the auction house is ready for Halloween and the month of October. For those that may not know this player run event happens on Thursday evenings with gates provided at the Luna Bank for those that do not know the way.

MOA is not the only guild with October fun and celebrations. Guild of Friends/GOF is once again planning fun times for the weekend of their 15 year anniversary as a guild. Flash dropped a note in my mailbox with the upcoming events with more details to follow. Congratulations to GOF !

Lady Lava has been a very busy girl trick or treating non stop and has 10 of the 11 heads on spikes. The one head that is alluding me is Mess herself ! I have found time in between begging my heart out to see a few more spooky plots and below is one that I was transported to today. Great Lakes truly has creative people! Now back to trick or treating for this girl.

October is once again upon us and the realm is full of fun and spooky things to do from pumpkin carving to killing Butcher’s. Then there are the zombie bones named after the sad and poor citizens of the towns and villages that die at the hands of those creepy things that go bump in the night, some even in the day.  Years past bone clearing houses had been set up to acquire your named bones days ,even weeks after your death. This year there are two houses set up for this very thing. One is in Moonglow and the other is a skip and jump from the Brit Moongate. Runes are being dropped around towns to these locations but the best is to give a yell out in general chat and many a kind soul will gate you or mark a rune to these locations for you. Below are screenshots of the clearinghouses and a few local plots spooked out for the season. Have fun and remember to brush your teeth after all the candy you consume from Trick or Treating.
