Thomas Wolfe Opens Bone Clearing House
With the graveyards a very busy place these days and ones personal bones in high demand Thomas Wolfe has opened up a bones clearinghouse. Others have done this in years past with named pumpkins and other items. This is a great idea and a nice gesture joining our community together. More of these bone clearinghouses no doubt with pop up and thank you to all those dedicated to them !
Thomas Wolfe’s location is northeast of Yew. Look for possible runes dropped or ask in general chat and no doubt a kind patron will show you the way.
p.s. If anyone finds Lava bones save them for me 😉
note : Hued bones will only be given in person not on vendors

Intoxicated Crowd at The Blue Boar for UO 15th Anniversary
This past monday was the 15th anniversary of Ultima Online and a huge crowd gathered at The Blue Boar in Brit to celebrate. The spirits ran freely including Old Yellow Snow Whiskey crafted by Karen Renee and Strong Brandy by Lord Beethoven.
After the crowd was fully sauced our two EMs and a guest EM arrived to enjoy the evening and direct the gathering.
As suggested most of the patrons arrived dressed in new player old school outfits and below are a few.
The first game of the evening was trivia MOA style with questions relating to UO history. Katrina was on her game and was the one to answer the first question correctly. There were 21 questions and the winner at the end was Martyna Z’muir getting six questions correct. One had to be fast in this game.
The crowd then stumbled over to The King’s Men Theater and everyone took a walk on stage to show off thier old school outfit and strut their stuff.
Then there was a tailoring contest. Each tailor was given product and they all had to create the same item in one minutes time. There seemed to be an issue as it appeared one or two tailors were so excited they kept on going after the sixty seconds. It was ironed out and three tailors remained for a ” tailor off ” with the one and only Crack Fiend taking first place.
Next it was onto battle contests but this lady was way too tired to fight after all that whiskey and brandy so I headed home to my Luna Manse and off to bed I went. The winners from this evening will be honored in the Awards Hall in the future.

For The Love Of Harpsichord
As you can see in the image above I love playing the harpsichord in my Luna Manse. For many of us this is our favorite anniversary gift this year. This instrument was widely used in Renaissance and Baroque music so a perfect choice for our world.
The harpsichord was an important keyboard instrument in Europe from the 15th thru the 18th centuries. The ancestor of the harpsichord was the psaltery which was created in 1300. In 1400 what we know today as a harpsichord seems to have evolved in the early 1400s in Flanders. By 1500, however, Italian makers had taken over. All harpsichords appear to be simple jacks sliding in a guide between a keyboard and a jack rail. In the 1700s the number of strings increased changing its range. In the 19th century this instrument went out of fashion but was revived in the 20th century and is still played today. Anyone that watched The Addams Family TV show is familar with the sounds of this instrument played by the butler, the handsome Lurch.
I have traveled far and wide over the realm to find these harpiscords set up and I found them in a wide range of environments from the swamps, to the the big city, a formal dining room in Felucca, a lavender bedroom and the more unusual…next to a row of chicken coops. Maybe the music increases egg productivity. One harpsichord even had a tip jar next to it noting, ” All tips are welcome “. Below are a few of these places with the landlords and landladies.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ULTIMA ONLINE
It is hard to fathom fifteen years and even harder that I have been around for twelve of them. Over the years so many friends have come and gone with a handful still here but there are always new friends to make. Some friends have even passed on in real life sad to say but it was a joy meeting them in the realm and also meeting them in person. They are remembered.
During my second year of game play I started to hear from people, “ You know they are pulling the plug on UO next year “. I still hear that to this day and laugh to myself as I do when I hear people in the realm stating , ” I am bored “. How the heck can you be bored when there is so much to do in this game and so many people to do it with. On the subject of things to do, Despise has been buzzing the past few days and what a fun time. I have done the boss fives times and have gotten looting rights only twice. This new set up is great for non tamers to give them a taste of it.
Then there are the anniversary gifts. Thank you for harpsicord and thank you for including the bench.
Here is to another fifteen ! Now onto last months death.

Dog Days of Summer, Awards Hall Update and Who Is Buried in Blackthorn’s Tomb ?
Relishing in the dog days of summer I just returned from a week in NewPort Beach and Laguna Beach. My home for the past eight years is the desert of southern California where most of July and August is in the hundreds so a trip to the coast is a refreshing break. I could not resist taking the photo above to share with our readers. It was in a vintage shop in downtown Laguna. Though summer is not offically over until September 22nd most students are already back in school with only summer memories to ponder.
Upon my return to the desert this morning I found a note in my letter box from EM Elizabella reminding me of the Felucca event this friday. With Felucca being a more civilized place these days hopefully some of you Trammel folks will venture over to the dark side for this fun event. Of course that does not mean you will leave alive.
“It’s the question on everyone’s mind: Who’s buried in Blackthorn’s tomb? Meet at Lord Blackthorn’s castle in Felucca on Friday, August 31st, at 8 p.m. CDT.”
Remember folks to always check the EM Calendar for upcoming events.
On the subject of EMs, the Great Lakes Rewards Hall and Museum has been updated with the most recent artifacts and events including the medals from the Great Lakes Games. Incase you are one of the very few that has not made a visit to this wonderful place filled with Great Lakes history you can take the teleporter just outside the Counslor’s Guild in old Brit. Everyone should stop by and check out the hard work that has been put into this museum.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Awarded
The Great Lakes Games were indeed great and lasted for hours. A handful of early birds including Lady Jasmine, Lord Kiron, Ixtab, Tunna, Bristlebane, Lord Arrow of Yew and Lady Martyna Z’muir got a preview of the newly design podium and olympic flame for the games.
With the crowd gaining girth Princess Mirendel and Selkestral circled above the spectators and watchers alike signaling the beginning of the games and the lighting of the torch.
Next on the scene were Summer and Sparky, the hosts of the games. The first game was archery and many athletes took place in this game.
Bristlebane was the first athlete up for this game but it was the FCB Guild that was the strongest with Tunna taking the bronze and Aridas taking the silver. A Raging Panda took gold.
The next event was the rowing event with a short and long run, so two chances for the gold.
The third game was one of summoning.
The summoning game was long and very close, not to mention exciting. It was a tie for the gold between Nille and SPARTACUS and Nille got the gold after a tie breaker round.
The forth and last game was a running game. Even old Lady Lava ran this race. Needless to say I came in last. Running in six inch stilletos is not a good idea folks.
The closing ceremony was grand with winners taking the podiums and showing off thier bronze, silver and gold!
Though I love my archery the rowing game was exciting. In one rowing game Neptune took the gold, Martyna took silver and John took bronze. In the other rowing game the -Y- Guild was a heavy winner. To find out all the winners be sure to check the Awards Hall in a few weeks when it gets an update. There will be a special area highlighting these games.
Thank you again to our wonderful Great Lakes EMs for yet another memorable event.
This just in from our EMs. Try and be there folks………….
