[NEWS] Royal Treasury is Depleted?!?!

April 18, 2012 By: Tertius Wands Category: Chesapeake News

Most have heard the town criers harping on how the Royal Treasury is empty.  Citizens have been inquiring as to just what this means and just how empty is empty.  Recent events have made this abundantly clear to all.  After leading an expedition into Exodus Dungeon Royal Mage Balandar First Order of Enchanters had to stoop to animal bartering to get important tinkering work completed.  The agreed upon price being six chickens, four pigs, two goats, four female sheep and one cow.  As degrading as this must have been to the Royal Mage now a warrant has been issued for his arrest for nonpayment!  It is truly a sad day when Royal Officials are unable to pay such paltry debts.   Rumors are currently flying that Grumpy the Tinker, to who the debt is owed, is furious.  Some even fear for the life of the Royal Mage as shadowy figures have been spotted at Balandar’s home in Moonglow late at night.  As new information becomes available more shall be posted for all.

[News] Strange New Activity in Exodus

April 13, 2012 By: Tertius Wands Category: Chesapeake News

With the recent troubles that have been plaguing many of the Cities of Britania it was only a matter of time before the guards lost control and whole areas being lost and looted.  This happened recently in the Capital of Britain when rioters took over looted, heavily damaged and blocked off the castle in the North of Britain that used to belong to Lord Blackthorn.  The Castle being closed off is probably for the best right now as its going to take some time before the guards get control of the cities once again.  The looting on the other hand is quiet a different matter.  All the objects that Lord Blackthron had collection were scattered to the wind possibly lost forever due to the lack of action by the guards.

In an effort to try and find where these items may have gotten too I sent out feelers’ throughout the streets ofBritain.  I got my first lead from a former thief that I knew inEast Britainwho told me to see what was going on in the Salty Dog that might help me get to the bottom of it.  After a fine meal and a nice bit of drinking I still could not figure out what was going on in the clean and well run tavern.  So as I had another ale I started thinking what could my friend have meant by the “get to the bottom of it”.  As I sat and pondered I realized that one of the few unique features of the Salty Dog was that unlike most of the buildings inBritainit had a basement.  I snuck down into the basement storeroom and behind a door I found a fence that offered me a map to the location where things from the castle had been taken.

I quickly studied the map as it looked like it would fall apart at any minute and noticed that it looked like theNorth Westarea of the Gargoyle City of Ver Lor Reg.  I quickly found a crystal portal to rapidly get to the city and found in the second floor of a weapon smiths shop a rope that descended down into Exodus.

Down there was some damage and a mostly rotted journal amid a pile of bones.  It spoke of punch cards and being able to repair something called nexus’s using tool fashioned from the gears of the horrific machine minions that inhabit that dark and evil place.  There were many adventures running around to the tripod mechanical nexus’s repairing them and then depositing punch cards in the system.  I took a look at trying to repair the circuit and after a series of nasty shocks I must have repaired it as it came whirring to life and with a “bee bop beep” spit a punch card out at me.  While I admit to the fun of solving any puzzle there are many dark and disturbing trends to fixing the vile machinery that exists in Exodus.  Who knows what we are unleashing on ourselves by repairing it.  As for now fair readers it seems we have yet another question to the one about finding out where the castles treasures went and that is what is going on in Exodus.

[NEWS] Easter Comes to Chesepeake

April 12, 2012 By: Tertius Wands Category: Chesapeake News

On Saturday at 10pm word quickly came out that something was happening at the Luna Bank.  Quickly the crowds began to descend on Luna to find out what was going on.  It was the mythical Eater Unicorn dragging with it a mutated, and quite horrifically mutated, squirrel statue.  Folks ran to pet the statue and soon the word went out that petting the statue caused it to give you a gift.  Inside a brightly colored basket were two bunnies like stuffed toys in a pastel color.  The unicorn dragged that statue around Luna for around 15 to 20 minutes and then headed for the Moongate.  Word quickly went around that the unicorn and that statue were in felucia at the Yew Moongate.  Folks rushed to the moongate and headed to Yew and kept petting the statue before heading off.

[NEWS] A Dangerous and Slimy Caravan

March 06, 2012 By: Tertius Wands Category: Chesapeake News

A Wiggly Caravan

February 29,2012

At 8pm on a Wednesday night folks gathered to help Sons of the Sea Guild Master Santigo move canned Golden Tuna Paste from the Sons of the Sea by the Trinsic Docks to Britain. Santigo was worried that with all the recent unrest there would be threats to the caravan. Almost as soon as the caravan left the gates of Trinsic raiders beset the caravan and were soundly repulsed. Sadly this was the first of many waves of raiders. As the caravan finally reached the outskirts of Britain Santigo took a wrong turn and headed towards the coast instead of heading towards Britain. At the beach Santigo noticed a foul smell. Whether or not the smell was the fish paste we were transporting or the strange green waste staining the beach and languishing along the water only the trained nose of Santigo could detect. Santigo found worms in the Golden Tuna paste. After complaining about using cheap canning services he declared the whole batch a waste and in a fit of anger threw the worm into some of the greenish goo on the beach. This proved to be a disastrous decision as what was once a small worm formed into a huge mutated worm beast and proceed to attack the caravan guards. It oozed acid and its terrible screams slowed and distracted all those attempting to slay it. After a long and hard fight the worm was killed and its body acid eventually soaked into the sand allowing the victors to get close to it. The Tuna being worthless it was decided to return to Trinsic, but unbeknownst to all those assembled a large force of raiders was just behind them. After dispatching them and returning to the Sons of the Sea Guild Hall the caravan dispersed. There was no answer to the question if this tied in to the feud between the nobles of Baron Caleb of Trinsic and Lord Cauthon of Britain. Of course Santigo did mention how it was clear to him that the waste must have come from the Britain sewers being unmanned in the current troubles. It remains to be seen what effect if any this issue will have between Britain and Trinsic and what effect the strange goo will have.
