Citizens gathered for the years first HoC meeting last eve just north of the Brit moongate. EM Drosselmeyer arrived with a flamestrike  as the meeting got underway with announcements. Dross excitedly exclaimed we would see our new EM addition somewhere towrds the middle to end of the month along with the following schedule of events:

Tuesday 1/8/13 – 9pm EST Trisnic Docks– Sons of the Sea Monthly Fishing Contest Weighins – January fish for the month to be announced her as well.

Saturday 1/12/13 7pm EST Serpents Hold – RP RBG event for those eager to rank up within the Royal Guard.

Wedsnesday 1/16/13 7pm EST – Final “investigation” event called “Hot on the Trail” involving puzzles, world exploration, and armed combat.

Wedsnesday 1/23/13 7pm EST – “Acts of Madness” Heavy Combat event.

Sunday 1/27/13 7pm EST – Sosarian Solstice Fair Night!

Wedsnesday 2/6/13 7pm EST – Febuary’s First RP RBG Event!

 Of Course the Weekly HoC meetings will take place every Sunday night 9pm EST. Along with these gates for all events can be found in Luna in the minutes leading up to each event.  We were even treated to a little combat action as Chaos Dragoons would soon arrive and try and usher us out for the night thier attempt was quite unsucessful!

    The shard was aglow with christmas spirit over the holiday as among the EM decorated halls of the Luna bank, the Stratics Santa payed visit to one and all over the holiday weekend spreading yultide cheer to all in his presence.  Treats were aplenty as Santa gave “Stratics Xmas 2012″ Brandy as well as homemade cookies to all who stepped over to say hello. All in all over 100 visitors!

     Citizens of Chesapeake gathered last eve at what would be our final meeting with EM Drosslemeyer for 2012. Reminising on the year gone by, Drosslemeyer reminded us of our many victories throughout the year as well as lingering defeats and work left to be done in the coming months. It was a year of great events, grand plots, ascensions to the throne and good friends saying goodbye.

      Announcements were to fllow as Dross reminded those in attendance that the months fishing tourney was still well underway with weighins and fish count to take place on Jan. 1st. The months fish are the Abysmal Dragonfish and the Black Marlin. Tuesday 12/18/12 at 7pm the Sosarian Solsctice Fair would open its doors once again to patrons. The window of opportunity to enter will be short however with Drosselmeyer advising those in attendance no one would be granted entry after 7:10pm est. 

      January will bring the shard a new EM to join the team as Drosselmeyer speaks highly of the incoming moderator and looks forward to his creativity and help in future events. Also noted was the earlier timeframe from which the new em will likely base events beginning at 7pm est for most events. The schedule will be picking up in his own words!

      Q&A soon followed with assurances from EM Drosselmeyer that the townships still awaiting healers huts would be on the agenda for  January. There are still several who have long since completed the requirements and have yet to see construction begin. We were also informed that there would be no snowfall in Sosaria this season as coding prevents the implemtation due to lag concerns. The season just won’t be the same without it!

     The weekly HoC’s are set to resume on January 6th and as Drosselmeyer sent everyone on thier merry way he wished us all a Happy Holidays!

  EM Drosselmeyer hosted the shards weekly meeting this past Sundays eve as players gathered for current events, info, and Q & A. Dross went on to announce a few upcoming dates for our enjoyment as the month of November shall play host to a Sons of the Seas sponsored fishing event seeking not only the largest but the grandest total amount of Grim Cisco and Winter Dragonfish. Winners will be honored at the Sons of the Sea in Trisnic following the events conclusion on 11/30/12.

   Also noteworthy was the commencement of the latest “static” event. Dross was offering tips and advice as the player poked him for every clue possible to aid them in thier journey. We even took a field trip to the quests starting location for hands on interaction to begin. Some of the tips still fresh from the source:

 – Info can be found in the pink books located at the HoC as well as the tavern in Serpents Hold.

 – It’s very important to give one item only to each npc throughout the quest.

 – The quest must be done in order to complete, if you reach a point where the npc states he has no time for you then you have missed a section.

 – The difficulty is stated to be far less than that of the 6 path version previously done.

 – To complete the quest in it’s entirety, one must reach the final area and take a screenshot of your character with it’s name in full view and email it to [email protected]

  Q/A soon ensued as players inquired about moving or repairing the player city banners as well as placement of healers hut remaining from completed livery quests. Discussion over the fate of the previous events boss also rendered no clues to the quick disappearance of Scynthe. Depooty EM Ozog soon concluded the nights meeting as we set our sights on that field trip to Serps. Join us next Sunday for the next installment of the HoC at 9pm EST with gates from Luna!

Tomorrow we are all a part of history! The majority of us know how old Stratics is and here are some interesting facts Stratics.

Stratics will be hosting a Livestream tomorrow at 2:00pm EST, 1:00 pm CST, 11:00 am PST and 7:00 pm BST and the thread to share their own memories.

Stratics encourages anyone interested to attend. During this live hangout, Stratics will be giving away beta keys, merchandise, and a brand new Razer Naga gaming mouse.

      The end of long, adventurous journey reached it’s end this past week here on Chesapeake as the shard said goodbye to it’s Elder Event Moderator EM Dudley after a four year trek of events, and happenings, and comraderie. Dudley joined the shard back in 2008. At this past Sundays HoC, Dudley said his goodbyes to the shard.

      Transversing the realm and bringing events of every variety to fruition, Dudley and his partners have worked very hard over the years as Chesapeake has been a forerunner in unique events from his onset. We’ve seen many events and landscapes that have simply blown our minds as well as static events and additions to the shard and even the entire realm from the Giant disco ball in the Luna fairgrounds to the construction of the Fortune’s Fire Casino. No event has been to grand or small for this trailblazer who departed the post to take an esteemed postion with Ultima Online as one of it’s newest members of the developement team!

    We will cherish the crazy and often colorful events and thier locations, the quirky and fun banter at the HoC, and are quite thankful for the time and dedication to the Chesapeake shard that Dudley has put forth. I’m sure I speak for everyone as we say “Thank You” for everything and “knock us dead” (literally of course) in the near future!

On October the 10th at 8:30 PM EST we will have “King and Country” event…this will be a roleplaying event.
On October the 24th at 8:30 PM EST the Sosarian Solstice Fair will return once more

On October 27th at 8:30 PM EST we will have “Reckoning and Retaliation”, a combat based event
The static that was pushed from last month will go live this month, with an announcement posted as soon as it is ready to go live, and it will last for two weeks.

     Gathering in Luna, patrons from about the realm waited patiently for the nights activities to begin. A night of conversation and answers were on tap as Lord Dupre summoned those interested parties to meet him in the newly renovated Blackthorns Castle in central Britain. With a great crowd on hand, the goblins of Pitmuck got busy opening thier ice cream stand for everyone’s enjoyment passing the time until the moongate appeared transporting the group.

    Arriving in Britain, everyone simply marveled at the transformation that had taken place inside the long closed castle belonging to the infamous Lord Blackthorn. Last seen as a half man, half mechanical menace, Blackthorn had nearly slipped into distant memory until those in attendance were stunned as Dupre shared some fresh information.

  In recent weeks the realm had bound together to aid the refugees of Val Lor Reg, driven from thier homes and now  held in quarantine inside the Tel Mur region. Plagued by an unknown sickness, the populace was near death and civil outbreak as a mysterious healer made his presence known along with what was thought to be a cure for the winged ones. The quick study that is Chesapeake sought out the cure and returned it to the healer saving all they could.

    Lord Dupre and Sherry the Mouse spoke of twisted alternate realities and void hampered moongates as they went on to share that the mysterious stranger was none other than the REAL Lord Blackthorn! Trapped inside the world of Exodus, Blackthorn only recently escaped and found himself in the lands of Tel Mur as if fate had guided him to remedy thier ills. Always fascinated with the species according to Dupre it was no shock to learn that the healer still to this day remains inside the quaratine area to ensure each and every gargoyle recieved proper vaccination. Princess Rhista soon made an appearance confirming much of the suspicions of our hosts. She went on to plea for help for the refugees as she feared thier welcome had run out in the Royal City.

   The mead hall was abuzz with whispers and enuendo as everyone was shocked to learn of his survival. Not only were they shocked but quite cautious as to whom and what to believe about the returning noble or his intentions therein. Those in attendance were torn between the belief of justice being needed for his foul actions in past years with a trial and ensuing execution or the possiblilty that this may very well be the bloodline of royalty among us…..

    I could not relent upon hearing the news of Blackthorn’s identity as the mysterious healer. I journied to the Royal Cities quaratine area to lay eyes upon the would be legend myself. He was certainly not the mechanical marauder I remember from my early days. Tirelessly the man worked, creating distributing his own formulated cures to the ill. Dressed in a dark and tattered monks robe he spoke not of his lineage or legend but only of the well being of the refugees.

     One thing is for certain, the return of Lord Blackthorn shall raise many questions. Honor, loyalties and compassion shall be tested should he return to Britain. I shall bear a watchful eye on the mysterious stranger as his story unfolds….

  Sundays Hall of Commons meeting was quite the event this week as an apparent late cancellation by EM’s Dudley and Drosselmeyer went unnoticed as players gathered outside the Brit Farms for the weekly endeavour.

 With our nights hosts mia, the crowds littlest member stood tall in grand fashion to lead the nights meeting. After serving everyone in attendance an ice cream cone, Announcements were underway as the Goblin did an excellent job reviewing the upcoming event schedule with Tuesday’s hunt for the Assassin event along with an update on the healing quest taking place inside the quaratined area north of the Royal City in Ter Mur.  Q & A soon followed with several goblin related questions about ice cream and flavors, when Ozog would become an official EM and more. The crowd had a great time at the meeting and we thank Ozog for his hosting efforts!
