Arakad Thorn: Deed areas such as the Britanian ship, it has two areas and only one square each
Arakad Thorn: perhaps make the cannon slots also areas to place deeded items or able to lock items down on the surface of the ship?
Mesanna: We will add those to our future ideas

Arakad Thorn: there was an ammo idea as well *actually from a free shard* – they made a Snare ammo – that slowed down ships such as a paralyze spell

Mesanna: The one we have not done yet?

Zath Stoneworker: As it stands now, it is quite dire on people who are trying to start the game for the first time.
Mesanna: agreed
Zath Stoneworker: They get very poor equipment, and there is no good hunting grounds to teach them the basics of the game while rewarding them.

Zath Stoneworker: In a way to increase the attach rate of trial accounts. I’d like to know what is being planned to address this issue now that we will soon be at stean.
Mesanna: First let me say we can only do so much with the team we have
Mesanna: we do have a good plan for a new player experience but we have something in front of it first
Mesanna: UO is 17 years old
Mesanna: we might get a few new players but we will probably get returning players faster
Mesanna: either way they need to be re introduced to UO
Mesanna: Every year it changes
Mesanna: and seems to be a new game if you are away
Mesanna: we as a team have alot of good ideas
Mesanna: we want to do so much
Mesanna: and have some really good ideas
Mesanna: but we can only so so much at a time
Zath Stoneworker: I understand. I also manage projects, and I know that you have time limitations.
Mesanna: but a new player experience is on our list to do
Mesanna: We want new and returning players
Mesanna: trust me
Zath Stoneworker: I’d just like to see them having to rely less on veterans to equip them so they will have a good time when trying the game again.
Mesanna: We all know new players have no idea what to do next
Mesanna: how to get around

Mesanna: our idea in this is to guide them around the world
Mesanna: not keep them in one area

Zath Stoneworker: I am glad to hear that it will be addressed. My next and last question is about resource gathering. I am a rather new player myself, being around for only almost 3 years, and in that time I had a very hard time gathering resources.
Zath Stoneworker: Ore and lumber, mostly. Mining seems to not pay the time you invest on it, and getting enough to fill BODS can prove to be a challenge.
Mesanna: Then you are going to love what Kyronix is going to tell you
Kyronix : Well you’ll be able to get some much better equipment compared to what is out there now
Kyronix : Right now, in development, we have changes that remove the old loot generation
Kyronix : And replace it with what many refer to as “Shame Style” loo t
Kyronix : And rolling that out globally

Here in lies the Chronicles of the Adventures of the Knights of the Crux Ansata, New Magincia Governor Nails Warstein, and his trusted companion Pfloyd the Cryptologist

SCENE 1

Upon hearing rumors of a mysterious discovery in the fields of Yew, the Knights and myself went to investigate an ancient stone with crux markings.

SCENE 2

Inside a nearby farm house the Knights and I discovered a bag that housed two clues within. Seems Mabel and Jed, farmers in a field south of Yew have dug up a few things in their field and they have been selling them to Josiah Havel for the Museum of Vesper and other research according to the receipt found inside their house.

SCENE 3

Their was 5000 gold pieces and a receipt for the Vesper Museum, so we quickly headed over there.

SCENE 4

After asking the Curator about Josiah Havel, a well known Royal Archaeologist, she directed us to a book written in code. The Curator said that Josiah left for Britain.

SCENE 5

The Knights and I found his beautiful home in Britain with a lantern displaying its location.

SCENE 6

We were all very shocked to see Josiah Havel, stripped of his clothes, and left for dead.

SCENE 7

Situated on his table was another ancient stone resembling the one found in the field. This one was a piece of a sarcophagus with a very significant clue. “The First Man Speaks His Name To The Last Man.

SCENE 8

Upon further examination of Josiah’s body we discovered yet another journal with letters and numbers in some strange language or code.

SCENE 9

After deliberating the meaning of the riddle found on the sarcophagus, we headed to the Wisp Dungon.

SCENE 10

Therein we stood in awe of the statue erected in memory of Armageddon The First Man Of Sosaria.

SCENE 11

We quickly headed to the grave of Zog where we followed the instructions to speake The First Man’s name Armageddon to the last man Zog.

SCENE 12

Upon speaking the password Armageddon, we gained entrance to Josiah Havel’s secret laboratory, where we found his research notes hinting the answers we seek could be found at the ancient headquarters of the Knights Of The Crux Ansata.

SCENE 13

With much foreboding and respect, we entered the infamous Underworld Dungeon

SCENE 14

We note the Memorial Stone remembering the Knights of the Crux Ansata.

SCENE 15

We finally discovered a very worn inscription with etchings exactly like the codes in Josiah’s journals. Now if we could only crack the code.

SCENE 16
Unable to solve the codes from the journals. I recruited my trust friend and cryptologist Pfloyd for his expertise. We revisited the sites of all the clues, I taught him the lore familiar to me on the Crux Ansata Knights. I guessed possible clues Ankh and Knights of the Crux Ansata. With these answers, Pfloyd quickly cracked the cypher. Now using the code we attempted to gain access to the secret treasures by saying the word friend. Finally we realized we must say the word friend in code which was 4C6Z3Z5Y5V6X

SCENE 17

Upon saying 4C6Z3Z5Y5V6X at the stone with the worn inscription we gain access to the treasures held within the Temple for the Knights Of Ankh.

SCENE 18

Where we grabbed this statue.

SCENE 19

After returning this treasure to the King, he engraved the statue with our names.

SCENE 20

King Blackthorn then laid the ancient treasures in his vault within Blackthorn’s Dungeon.

The time be here again for another ocean wide fishing competition!

Organized by The City of Trinsic, the competition be open to all anglers across all the seas.

Catch Window : Thursday, 1st May. -> Thursday, 15th May. (15 days)
Weigh-In Event : Friday 16th May, 9:00pm EST.
Place : Trinsic Docks, Trammel.

The catch window will be from May 1st to May 15th, 2014. Only fish tagged between, and including, these dates will be eligible for entry in their appropriate category.

To submit a fish for judging, all ye need to do is drop it in the mailbox at the Surf Shack on Trinsic south beach, which be here..

Then, at the Weigh-In event on Friday May 16th, we be announcing the winners for all categories and awarding prizes to the lucky anglers. Ye can also turn in any last minute entries by hand at the event. However, please note that fish caught on the day of the Weigh-In will be outside the catch window, and so will not be eligible.

After the prizes have gone out, it’d be our great honor if all hands would join us for some good ol’ fashioned cannon cracking aboard the Trinsic naval ships. We’ll be taking on two of the sea’s greatest beasties…

The Ways Of the Contest
– Ye can submit as many fish as ye like, in as many categories as ye like.
– Only fish submitted in game via the designated mailbox, or handed to the judges on the day of the Weigh-In event, will be accepted. (No screenshots)
– Ye may only win one of the listed categories, with the exception of the two final categories X & Z (see below).
– The final winners will be announced, and prizes awarded, at the Weigh-In event. It may be possible to pick up yer prize after the event if a time can be arranged.
– In the case where one fisherman submits multiple fish that win different categories, the fisherman will be awarded victory in the category covering his/her largest fish only. If the fish are of the same weight, the judges will decide which category to award.
– The two final categories X and Z will be awarded to the biggest qualifying fish submitted in the previous categories A through H.
– Only fish listed in each category above will be accepted. We will not be accepting Red Herring, Mud Puppies, or any other fish not on the lists above.
– The weight of biggest fish submitted thus far for each categories will be listed in the table at the bottom of this post. The table will be updated once a day, in the early morning hours.
– If ye would like yer fish back after the competition, please submit them in a bag with a rune to a public mailbox where they may be returned. However, we are encouraging people to donate them to the Fishing Record Museum, and this is where all record breaking un-claimed will be sent.
– Lastly, in the event of any controversy, the judge’s decisions be final in all things.
