Saturday July 21st is the date of this years Beach Party. I say this year as last years Beach Party was a blast and my hopes are that they happen each and every year to come. Ironically I start my real life vacation that day and I will beach in sunny southern California. If I were not there would be no doubt Lady Lava would be working on her sunny beach outfit. 4P.M. CDT is the time of this event and remember to always check the EM calendar for special events and times.

The weather is so uncertain, let’s rush to the beach this sunny Saturday afternoon! We can fish and drink icy cool lemonade! Bathing beauties and their beaus will dazzle on the runway in the newest fashions. Pay no attention to rumors of something new on the beach, something bitter, biting, and embattled…

• For the beach weigh-in, only Autumn Dragonfish caught July 21, 2012 qualify. If it does not win, you may have it back.
• If you would like to participate in the fashion show, please wear a summery outfit. It does not have to be a swimsuit.
• There will be a gate from the Counselor Hall.

Chatelaine Scissors, Warriors and Spys

Tuesday evening EM events are still going strong and well attended. This past tuesday I stopped by the Warrior’s Guild in Brit to see what the old guards and spys were up to. There was a rather large gathering of more than fifty. Dupre showed up to give the most recent updates claiming that now the Exodus has been dealt with an eye must be turned to taking back Trinsic.

The evenings mission was to gather up ingredients to make a potion as the first step in taking back the city. This took the group to one of the oldest hags in the realm…. Grizelda herself.

Grizelda’s chase took us to rather strange places and interesting characters to gather Pixie Tears, Chatelaine Scissors and Chamomile to help in the creation of the needed sleeping potion. It was not all fun and games mind you as Apex Mages and very large creatures needed to be killed along the way. Below are a few images of the evenings journey.

Summertime at MOA

Summer begins on June 20th , just a few days away, and it seems the realm changes with the season.

It appears some players leave for the summer and others appear or have more time for play. It had

been months since I last visited the MOA auction house and this past thursday I checked it out to see

how the old gal was running.  Several patrons expressed attendance was “light as summer is here”.

I arrived early as I often do when attending player run events and others arrived even before me

including Hannah and Captain Murphy. They are MOA regulars.

It was not long before the patrons started filling the benches and items went on the auction block.

I sat between the infamous Great Lakes crossdresser Manx and the always helpful and charming Car’c’carn.

For a ” light ” attendance there sure was a lot of bidding and some rather dashing patrons which

included Lord Disconbobulation, Willa of Yew-Wood, Lysari, Lord Enchanter, Larretta, Cin,

Merwenna, Xevei, Tye Weatherlight, Mucklebones, Lady Thunder Shadow, Greywolf, JAKE,

Marduk, and Lakka to name a few.

DJ Scorp and Melian ( dressed rather seductive ) ran the auction itself. Being vet MOA staffer things ran smoothly and entertaining

as always.

Of course on top of the great items to bid on there was trivia gold give aways during the event which

are always anticipated.  For weeks there were rumors going about Luna and Brit Bank that MOA was

taking a break during the summer months. I asked the MOA staff if indeed these rumors were true and

was told they had not heard anything about this…which is good news. So remember folks thursday

evening MOA auctions with gates provided at the Luna Bank for sure and sometimes other popular

bank locations.

Just in from EM Elizabella…..

In Nujel’m, some months ago, a magical fire engulfed the royal vaults. It destroyed priceless flying carpets, melted untouched old lamps, and reduced to ash the jewel box of the blood-red Eye of Dahsk. As his sorcerers recovered from the fierce firefight, the Sultan strained for a glimpse of what remained of his treasures. He could not resist stepping into the vault and going to the Eye of Dahsk’s pedestal. At a touch, the ashes fell away, revealing the gem, now a shimmering blue, the shade of the Nujel’m sky on a clear day.

The Sultan of Nujel’m invites all to his island for the annual Festival of Masks. This will be a lighthearted street party with food, drinks, and shameless thievery. Please wear a mask and pretend not to recognize anyone else who is wearing a mask.
“The Game” will be played. The goal is to figure out who in Nujel’m has the Eye of Dahsk. Then steal the gem and return it to the sultan. The name of the first to return the Eye of Dahsk to the sultan will be displayed on a suitable item at the Felucca Award Hall. To steal the jewel, your character must be a member of the Thieves’ Guild.
This year the Sultan has another request of the assembled thieves. He has made a deal with Sir Dupre, pro tem Commander of the Royal Guard. It will be announced in the (Felucca) Nujel’m throneroom on Saturday, June 16, at 8:00 p.m. CDT.
You can recall or sail to Nujel’m for the Festival of Masks and The Game. There will also be a gate from a few steps southwest of the Felucca Britain Moongate directly into Nujel’m, a guard zone.

MAY OBITS

There were many deaths in the month of May caused by Cora and her waves of monsters. Many of those were featured in a previous post. The May Obituary Column features mainly non Cora related deaths.

It seems everyone is talking about Cora these days. Cora this and Cora that, not to mention her waves. Those waves, they keep on coming ! Covetous has been the hot spot for the long holiday weekend. Heavens knows I spent hours there each day for the past three days. After countless waves and deaths, both monster and human, I wanted to see who this Cora was. Three attempts I made with different groups with much bloodshed. Once we actually killed her with the help of a Greater Dragon. She sucks you in so the owner of the dragon stayed dead as we healed the dragon and finally did Cora in. With so much death this past week I thought I would feature a few of the dead and dieing at the hands of Cora and her warriors.

Bleak, Gryphon, Kyronix, Misk, Pratt, Phoenix, Waterloo, Malachi, Elizabella, Messana and Lady Lava OH MY !

It was a celebrity filled Tic Tac Dough event, part of the Rares Fest on Great Lakes. Engineers, Devs, EMs, QA, Stratics Big Wigs and even a reporter filled the boxes in this Hollywood Squares type game.

The one and only Mesanna with hostess Melian of MOA ran this event. Before Messana introduced the celebrities she made it clear that there would be no funny business at this event. To make sure of it she brought along two of her thugs both named, Tic Tac Dough of DEATH. They were big so when Mesanna yelled out to the crowd, ” These guys are not going to take you to jail or warn you if you mess up or disrupt the game. We are just going to slay you “  everyone heeded her word.

Melian being the hostess with the mostess gave the rules and the two first contestants were selected after answering trivia questions correctly and quickly. Those two were Vida Guerra and the infamous bank sitter Ghost.

The questions asked in this game were from the real world and my first question was, ” Flour and fat, mixed and heated together form a thickening agent called ? ” The answer was , roux.  It was rather strange being transported into the game box. When watching Hollywood Squares as a child I always wondered what it would feel like being in one of those boxes. Needless to say this is the closest I will ever get. All the questions were rather good and fun. The second set of players selected were Kara and Jill. There was only time for two rounds of this game as other things were planned for the evening. I could have played this for hours! The winners were given gold reward prizes but this was about the game and having fun. The set for this game was beautifully designed.  My only minor complaint, I was on the bottom level and could not hear what was being typed on the top level but it did not matter really.  

Thank you to everyone that put time and effort into this event. It is just another example of how great Great Lakes, UO and Stratics staff are. 

A little side note to Messana, if you ever want to lend me your Tic Tac Dough of DEATH buddies I could use a couple body guards when this Tram girl ventures into Fel.
