Night had long fallen on Ter Mur, yet not all who lived there slumbered. High upon a parapet in the northern section of the Royal City, Queen Zhah, leader of the Gargoyles, argued with her daughter, Rhista. Though their disagreement had been given voice for over an hour, it now reached its conclusion…

“Mother, your subjects are dying.” Rhista, the Queen’s only daughter, pleaded.

“Yes, and I am doing all that is prudent to do in the matter. I have offered rewards for those who would be of the greatest help to our kind, yet it seems few of those in the best place to do some good have no desire to do so!” Zhah replied, her tone weary as she realized all hope for sleep on this night had died the moment her daughter began this conversation.

“You speak of the Humans as if they are nothing but mercenaries – without honor or mercy,” Rhista replied “I not believe them to be such.”

A sad smile broke across the Queen’s face, “Then what is there to persuade them? I do not think it can be done. Their streets burn with the fire of the malcontents, and their leaders have abandoned any hope of central authority – Britannia is a beast that lives without a head. It saddens me to say, but it would not surprise me if it were Humans who stole medicine you speak of. The behavior of desperate beings rarely makes sense.”

“For the sake of the Gargoyles that have been kept as near-prisoners in that village, I hope you are wrong, Mother. We need to recover those cures, and we need to understand why the supply of them has been cut so short as of late.” Rhista replied.

“And how do you suggest we do this? Our people are spread t0o thin as it is – many due to the matters of a home with someone who is ill, and others because of the ongoing efforts to locate those who got lost in the exodus from Ver Lor Reg. Not to mention those who were injured during the battle there…” Zhah trailed off as she considered the sufferings of all Gargoyles, not just the ones in the nearby fishing village.

Exasperated, Rhista responded, “we ASK them to help! I will spread the word myself.”

Annoyed by her daughter’s tone, the Queen thought for a moment. “Very well, send your request. But understand this, Daughter – though you will one day rule, I am still Queen, and I will not be spoken to in such a way by anyone – my own child included.”

“I understand, my Queen,” Rhista replied, bowing her head to show obedience – and to conceal the small smile on her face, “I shall send word out immediately.”

“I hope that your faith is rewarded, but I fear it will not be. I leave you to your task, but before you begin I have one final command on the order, and on this I will not relent. You are NOT to visit that village yourself, understood?” the Queen ordered.

Betraying only a brief flash of dismay, Rhista responded, “Yes, Mother. I understand.”

WHERE: The fishing village north of the Royal City.

This event will conclude with a walkthrough of the current quest involving the production of a cure for the Gargoyle plague. Some of the ingredients necessary will be provided in limited quantities during the course of the event, while others will have to be sought out afterwards.

July 25th, 9pm EST – “Desperate Times – Part I“.  As many seek to help the gargoyles suffering in Ter Mur, there are those who would instead try to profit from the situation.

July 27th – August 2nd – “Desperate Times – Part II“. Thorpe calls for an investigation into the author(s) of an inflammatory pamphlet that has begun circulating in Britannia.

August 3rd, 7pm EST – “Desperate Times – Part III“. Event dependent on outcome of the investigation.

I also would like hold a community meeting some evening this month.  Once  I figure out a date for that I will post it here along with the   topic(s) for discussion.

Howdy folks.

Given that I am the only EM on Catskills for the moment (a situation that we are working on changing!), I am going to make an effort to give you a monthly calendar of sorts. I may not be able to provide all details of the event until it gets closer to the date, but at least this gives everyone a heads up that something is a’ foot.

July 12th, 12:01am EST – The “Midnight Marksman” archery tournament. Location is to be determined. This event is part of the ongoing Catskills Archery League – details are on the Catskills EM Site. PLEASE NOTE THE PROPER DAY FOR THIS. We will start registration late on Wednesday night, and begin the competition very early Thursday morning.

July 15th, Morning – To be determined. Check back later.

July 28th, 9pm EST – To be determined. Check back later.

I also would like hold a community meeting some evening this month. Once I figure out a date for that I will post it here along with the topic(s) for discussion.

Citizens of Britannia!

The Sultan of Nujel’m cordially invites all to this year’s Festival  of Masks! Come with your best disguise and take in the beauty of  Nujel’m. The streets in front of the palace are open for all to enjoy a  night of merriment. As is tradition, it will be assumed that all those  wearing a mask are part of “The Game”. A replica of the great ruby, the Eye of Dahsk,  will secretly be given to one person to carry while all other attendees  try to find out who has it, steals it, and returns it to myself, Said Halabi, the  Master of Ceremonies and Vizier to the Sultan. The winner will receive a  special recognition of a value far greater than that of the replica Eye.

In addition, all brewers, distillers, and wine-makers are asked to  bring a barrel of their finest to share. After all have had a chance to  sample, a vote will be taken to declare the best!

The Festival begins promptly at 10pm EST, and will last two hours. Please note that this event takes place on the Felucca facet.

Catskills Sports Report

Citizens and Friends of Britannia,

As the disconcerting events centered around the city of Ver Lor Reg in Ilshenar reach a new level of danger, a meeting is being called. Whispers of an old enemy have reached the ears of many – including those of one of the Kingdom’s greatest champions. All willing adventurers are asked to meet with Sir Andrew in front of the Castle gate in Britain on June 16th at 7pm to participate in a planning session for a siege of Ver Lor Reg. Weapons will be of little use on this evening.

Howdy folks.

Without giving away too much, I wanted to clue you in on some of the events for this month…

June 16th, 7pm EST – A meeting to discuss plans for a siege of Ver Lor Reg.

June 18th, daytime (exact time TBD) – ???

June 20th, 9:30pm EST – ???

June 22nd, 7pm EST – ??? (You won’t want to miss this one)

June 30th, 9pm EST – Festival of Masks. The annual event comprised of drinking, camaraderie, subterfuge, and drinking.

Additionally,  I will try and stick to my promise of keeping the archery league on  track. Expect this month’s competition to be a “Midnight Marksman” event  that will be held, well, at midnight…

I will clarify the events in this list (where needed) as more information comes to light

Okay so that’s a pretty rubbish title, I was thinking Bon Voyage but that doesn’t specify a one way trip, Which is what this is. If you couldn’t make it on Sunday, I’m leaving Catskills.. I really haven’t been giving it my full time lately because, being from Europe, It’s late! When I was offered the spot I snapped their hands off.. Then life got in the way slowly this year, work made it hard to stay up late. So I’m leaving to let someone else who can give you their full time take my place..

I want to thank you all for a fabulous welcome last June, I couldn’t have asked for a better shard to kill entertain. Please be nice for Barnaby.. Or he will kill you, repeatability, and welcome the new EM with the same open arms you welcomed me.

I’m not leaving the EM program so if you play other shards, you’ll see me around.. I leave you with one parting gift, My most memorable moment from my time here.

The 16th of July, Why did I hold a deadly event on such a small island? Well I want to call it a learning experience! Did I do it again? No!

Why you all died at once? I want you to know, once the initial confusion passed in my head, I was laughing very very hard.

You’ve really been amazing, Thank you all! Please keep Barnaby and the new EM busy with your attendance and requests!
