Blackthorn Dungeon Raid

Hello everyone I would like to make an official announcement that the PaxLair Alliance and also EVI alliance will be participating in a duel alliance raid on blackthorn’s Dungeon. The co-host for this event is Gareth, this event will take place on 10 January 2014 at 2030 hours eastern time I would also like to add anyone that is not in either alliance is more than welcome to join. This years Community Christmas Tree was literally built by the players of the Chesapeake. The tree was constructed using Elephant Ear plants grown by the players in the City of New Magincia. The night consisted of a tree lighting by Governor Pheonix of Trinsic and Mayor NANOC of Dragons Watch, followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Lady Angelica of Luna. Those in attendence received a special gift bag which appeared in their backpack after yelling “PRESSIES” at the Santa statue. We hope you all had a great time at the event and enjoyed the wonderful video recorded by Victor, Happy Holidays!!!

Kingdom of Dawn 15th Anniversary Player-Written Book Contest Winners!

The Kingdom of Dawn would like to thank the judges, who shall remain anonymous, and the contestants who entered the contest.  A total of six  (6) books entries were received on the theme of Perseverance.  Only five (5) were judged as Freedom! by Fern Goodfellow was a tad too suggestive to be considered for the contest and the author just does not understand the meaning of PG-13. (If you have meet Fern Goodfellow, you will totally understand this.)  All of the books will be on display in the Kingdom of Dawn Malas Outpost located just west of Umbra.  It is the second building west of umbra on the north side of the road.

The winners are:

1st place – To do what one must by An Vas Zu
2nd place – Dawn Story Contest by Maggy and Peter (IC)
3rd place – I persevered by Oro d’lci
4th place – Nubby an da Mongie by Nubby Eewriggles (Nubby and the Mongbat)
5th place – Taming Drakes by James

The prizes are:

1st – 1,000,000 gold pieces
2nd – 500,000 gold pieces
3rd – 250,000 gold pieces

Friday, February 8, 2013 – Grand Tour of Avalon & The Kingdom of Dawn.  The tour will start at 7 PM PST (10 PM EST).  Both cities are located in Felucca so please take the appropriate actions to safeguard items and pets you do not want to lose.  Gates will be provided starting 5 minutes before the event from Luna Bank in Malas and Ocllo Bank in Felucca.

Saturday, February 9, 2013 – Council of Spirits (C@S) Peerless Marathon.  C@S, an 11 year old guild, will be hosting a series of Peerless Encounters in Trammel.  More information will be posted at a later date.

Sunday, February 10, 2013 – The Dawn Museum of Dreams Scavenger Hunt will start at 7 PM PST (10 PM EST).  Clues will be provided and you will have to find the items which will be located in buildings through out the Kingdom of Dawn in Felucca.  Gates will be provided starting 5 minutes before the event from Luna Bank in Malas and Ocllo Bank in Felucca.

Monday, February 11, 2013 – At 7 PM PST (10 PM EST) Dawn’s Valentines Day Ball will start.  It will be held at Dawn’s Malas Outpost and Book Library which is located west of Umbra. The entries for the Dawn 15th Anniversary Player-Written Book Contest are due at 9 PM PST (Midnight EST).  The theme for the book contest is perseverance.

Come join the Kingdom of Dawn as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary.

The Kingdom of Dawn, which is a player-run city located east of Dungeon Wrong in Felucca, will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary on Friday, February 11, 2013. One of the events that we are holding is an annual player-written book contest. The theme for this contest is perseverance. The guaranteed prize fund is currently 1 Million Gold Pieces.

Your submission must be received by Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 9 PM PST (12 PM EST).
Rules:

1. All books MUST BE PG-13 which will be determined solely by Grand Duchess WildStar. If your book is found not to be PG-13, it will be returned to you and you will have only one chance to resubmit it.

2. Your submission must be an original work about or related to the theme of perseverance created by you either at some time in the past or just for this contest. If the book already exists in The Dawn Library Collection, it will be disqualified.

3. Your submission must include your name and a method of contacting you – ICQ Number or email address – in a separate book.

Your submission will be judged on the following qualities: Content & Quality of Writing.

The winners will be announced on Stratics & UOForums and the books will be prominently displayed in both libraries. The Dawn Library is located within the boundaries of the Kingdom of Dawn at coordinates 118”33’N 62”51’E (Felucca) and our Malas Outpost & Book Library located just West of Umbra at coordinates 28”23’N 41”24’E (Malas).

All books submitted may be included in The Dawn Library Collection at the discretion of the Library Director, Harlequin.

EM Events For the Week

EM Announcements

• I will ask Mesanna if she can join us next week to dye Halloween Masks, so go ahead and bring your masks next week just in case (12/2/12 @9:00pm Hall of Commons)

• Watch the EM boards for an announcement in December about December events

• Next month, we should have another EM and while we’ve enjoyed Deputy Ozog’s assistance I fear we’ll have another stool in his place soon. The new EM will be launched to us via Mesanna’s Cannon
• If you are ever speaking to any EM character that does not say “EM______” then you are speaking to the IC (In Character) and they are speaking to you IC. No matter what terms you use, they are a roleplay character and will respond as such. So if you insult an RPC (Roleplay character) and insist they are not worthy of things they will argue back, vehemently. That being said, that is again, only RPC’s words, it does not pass on to OOC (Out of Character)

Royal Guard and Ranks Explanation

• The Royal Guard is set up in a standardized way that awards players based on Merits that are clearly defined. This is the structure that is allowed to be had and used by the EM program. There is no other system that is allowed for the EM program to use And there has been a bit of complaining due to some confusion caused by previous EM Vladimere who awarded some players improperly with ranks. In addition, the Royal Britannian Guard is EM run. Votes do not matter. What gas happened before does no matter. The only way to gain rank in the current RBG is to do so via the current system. This is not in any way showing persecution or dislike of anyone’s characters or backgrounds. However we are bound by the rules of our system an the rules that prove there is no favoritism. I know that the RBG events were scarce in the past few months but we will be working to have minimum one RBG event per month from now on. Many of you will progress in rank, and as you do the EM RPC’s who hold higher ranks will trust your characters with more responsibility during RBG events. This was seen during the last one as Gwen utilized the Corporals as team leaders. However… these ranks are not to be abused, and you can be demoted and given demerits. The Royal Britannian Guard is a military unit. It is run as a military unit. Those who hold higher ranks will be expected to do so properly.

Exodus was defeated for the First time on Chesapeake on Tuesday, November 20th at 2:00pm by Inhabitants from Kijustsu Anei Village and Port Ethereal Keys. Battling this almost impossible to defeat creature was our very own Janitor Pooper, Absolute, Flint, Big John, Lord Cheever, and Lord Gareth.
