As you know, we are all busy during the holiday season, hence the light event schedule for this month. Don’t worry, we’ll be back in full swing come January. I would like for all of us to gather in Magincia in the public gardens Saturday, December 22 at 7pm PST for a night of fellowship and goodwill. We will do some caroling of course..and if any of you want to write a special “UO carol” that would be awesomeness! If you like you can bring food and drink!

Gringles the Goblin had a secret desire. He wanted to be one of Santa’s helpers! He had asked Santa several times before..but Santa knowing how mischievous little goblins can be..was having doubts. The holidays were fast approaching and Gringles knew things were in full swing at Santa’s shop. Maybe now was the time to ask again! Surely Santa could use the help. Running as fast as his little goblin feet could carry him, Gringles hurried off to the shop.
“Santy Pants! Santy Pants! Mees back! Mees weallys wants toos bees yoos elf dis years! Mees promises toos bees goos! Gringles no pees ons toys or bites de ovfer elfs!“, Gringles said as he slide to a stop in front of Santa ,who was busy over seeing the feeding of his reindeer with special flying feed.(The reindeer have to be fed this well in advance to store up the flying ability.)
Santa looked down at the little goblin, who’s eyes were wide with excitement and longing. Frowning and rubbing his snowy white beard, Santa looked over at Sprikens the Elf.
“Spriken, what do you think? This little guy isn’t going to give up asking. Do you think he can be a good elf?”, Santa asked.
Sprikens the Elf giggled and looked at the goblin. Putting his hands on his hips, he ordered the little goblin to turn in circles so he could get a good look at him.
“Well Santa”, he said between fits of giggling, “He is green, and has big pointy ears..but maybe if you give him something to do to see if he can handle it first?”
“Excellent idea Sprikens!”exclaimed Santa,“And I have just the task for him!”
Turning back to Gringles,Santa explained what the task was. Gringles eyes widened and a big toothy grin spread over his little goblin face.
“Mees kins does dat Santy Pants! Mees goos! Gringles wills gets de bestest dey bees!” he said as he ran out the door to start the task Santa had given him.
As he ran back to Britain, Gringles suddenly realized..he had no idea where to look. He was going to need help and he knew just who to ask!

Standing back admiring her work, Grindylow gave a small nod of satisfaction
“Perfect!” she said to herself. Walking up the line of tables, she had a smile of pride on her face. “Finally! No mishaps, perfect table, good food,(which she didn’t cook) and soon good friends!” she giggled.
There had been no sight or sound of the Angry Golden Gobbler that had threatened revenge if so much as one turkey was placed on the feasting tables. “Phshaw..he must have been just a big ole bag of feathers and hot air. All gobbles and threats, but afraid to be basted” she giggled to herself.
Everyone was looking forward to the Feast of Thanksgiving and there was much to be thankful for.
A new King had been crowned, and under his leadership, and compassion, the realm had begun to heal from the horrid era of Exodus wreaking havoc upon their lands. The rioters gone, appeased and happy at last of having work, and full bellys. Towns were bustling with activity and the shop keepers all had smiles on their faces. In a time where once all had seemed doomed, brightness now shown.
Taking one last look at the set tables, Grindylow set out to tell the town criers to call out the word…

To help out citizens in Skara Brae and in a time of thanks, the King has sent a shipment of food to help as the citizens get back on their feet. He has even sent the prize turkey meant for the castle dinner! Rumor has it the Orc’s are on a rampage and are attacking caravans. Meet at West Britain Bank to find out more!

Tomorrow we are all a part of history! The majority of us know how old Stratics is and here are some interesting facts Stratics.

Stratics will be hosting a Livestream tomorrow at 2:00pm EST, 1:00 pm CST, 11:00 am PST and 7:00 pm BST and the thread to share their own memories.

Gathering his helpers together, he told them just what they were going to do…

2) Lady Wildstar of the Kingdom of Dawn, will announce the winner of the Halloween House Decoration contest! Following the announcement and prize awarded, there will be a tour of entries in the contest!

3) Costume contest

There will be a costume contest held during the bazaar from 7:45 PM to 8:15 PM (PST). The rules are quite simple,

1- You need a costume, other than the cool costume masks you get from the new quest.

2- You need to write a short bio about who you are pretending to be in your paper doll. Humor is encouraged.

3- You will have to model your costume on the stage. Acting it out is also encouraged!

4) Short Story Recital Contest

You are invited to recite a short story, preferably spooky and terrifying. The recital should not last longer than 5 minutes. Please register ahead of time by commenting here, or emailing me at: [email protected]

Please, the stories should conform to the rules of the game. So, don’t forget to keep it clean! You will be judged on your creativity and a winner will be chosen.

5) Scavenger Hunt!

You will be given a bag with a 2books,one with clues and the other blank to write your name in. Who ever brings back the most correct items first will be declared winner! Please be sure to write your name in the blank book and place it in the bag!

Grindylow looked at the order book lying on the counter. Her eyes widened at the size of the orders of goblins and ghoolies needed for the Halloween rush. She glanced over at Grizelda who was working feverishly, tossing bits and pieces from jars into the big cauldron, while muttering under her breath the spells to bring the creatures to life. Grindylow started tapping the side of her nose and her right foot, (not such a good sign, as we know it means she’s thinking). A little light bulb appeared over her head as the thought creeped in.
“Yes that’s it!” she thought to herself. “I’ll help Grizelda out by filling some of these orders!” Rushing to her little work bench she began gathering supplies…
