Magincian Trading Co. Ambushed
WarderDragon

Word has reached us of a raid upon a Magincian Trading Co. [NMTC] Caravan last evening.

The Caravan managed to retreat to a defensible position while mercenaries associated with House Freelance and NMTC sparred with raiders. The organization suffered minimal losses in the ensuing melee. Note on the corpses indicate the men were thugs hired to promised a thousand gold for each head brought to their employer. No word on who might be responsible.

This comes right on the heels of the murder of a Magincian citizen.

Lynne Zellinous and the Magincian Council are reported to be investigating the matter and consulting with allies.

Elladan wished me inform Sosarians that the Sacred Rose of Queen Shieba has been returned to the order.

It is unclear how the Councillor recovered the object. I am told the mistress of the order is appreciative of the gesture.

[EM News] A Surprise Attack

A Surprise Attack
EM Seppo

The sentries at the bridge had no real chance. Complacent from the recent peace and stability, they chose to play cards instead of keeping the watch. Likely, they were also paid off by the smugglers to look the other way. So, when the attack came under the cover of the darkness, the outcome was already decided…

Britannian Fall Festival

November
William Cullen Bryant
“Yet one smile more, departing, distant sun!
One mellow smile through the soft vapoury air,
Ere, o’er the frozen earth, the loud winds run,
Or snows are sifted o’er the meadows bare.
One smile on the brown hills and naked trees,
And the dark rocks whose summer wreaths are cast,
And the blue gentian flower, that, in the breeze,
Nods lonely, of her beauteous race the last.
Yet a few sunny days, in which the bee
Shall murmur by the hedge that skirts the way,
The cricket chirp upon the russet lea,
And man delight to linger in thy ray.
Yet one rich smile, and we will try to bear
The piercing winter frost, and winds, and darkened air.”

[EM Fiction] Spooning. (Charlotte Christianson.)

November 09, 2011 By: WarderDragon Category: Baja News, Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance

Spooning
EM Godiva

Lady Charlotte Christianson lifted her head from the pillow and winced before setting it back down. The headaches were getting worse. She closed her eyes and blindly reached out beside her bed, slowly moving her hand around until she felt the small pewter bowl. Charlotte removed the cloth, which was draped over the side, and dipped it into the cool water. As her stomach lurched, her fist tightened, ringing out the excess liquid. She brought the damp cloth to her face and listened to the rhythmic throbbing of her head.

After several minutes, which seemed like hours, Charlotte reached her hand out again, retrieving a small jar from behind her headboard. She opened it and, using a tiny silver spoon, Charlotte withdrew some of its contents. She brought it to her mouth and swallowed the syrup, greedily licking the spoon until it was clean.

Shortly after, Charlotte sighed with relief as the drug began to work.

Minutes later, she was giggling and slurring what she thought were amusing and profound revelations to her spoon, which she had begun to call “Sil”.

[RP News] Urgent Message Sent to the High Council. Citizen Murdered on the Streets of Magincia.

November 09, 2011 By: WarderDragon Category: Baja News, Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance

*parchment copies are left in the Town Guard Tower, Lady Christianson’s Office, Ta’lin’s Keep, and the Pak Den*

Hail Councillors,

Lord James of MT sent an urgent call to action upon discovering a corpse (the bloodied body of a Magincian Gardener) in Magincia’s Garden Square. I, along with Councillors Elladan & Fern, Lord Lance Marshall, and Circe met James and found a disturbing note. Apparently the guards were distracted or could not prevent this criminal act. Attempts were made to contact Councillors Fig & Ta’lin, Negotiator Dante, and Captain Jenkins.

We hope to convene soon as a Council to discuss action. Until that time, we will undertake a watch, coordinated by Councillor Fern Goodfellow & Lord Elladan, and continue to investigate.

Lady Claudia Drusilla
Regent of HearthFire Village and Acolyte of the Order of the Rose
