Kai Schober, Bonnie ‘Mesanna’ Armstrong and many others from the Mythic team joined Rob ‘Grakulen’ Lashley and Hillary ‘Pokket’ Nicole for their Wayback Wednesday series on MMORPG.com’s Twitch TV channel.
They grouped up to face the various hordes inhabiting the newly redesigned Covetous Dungeon on TC1. The live stream took place on Wednesday, 5/16 and lasted for over two hours!

I have never watched a Way Back broadcast before so I don’t know if what they did was “the usual”. But I kinda expected an overall view of what UO is about. Instead, they did a dungeon crawl for 2 hours, and then went to a Fel moongate and killed/got killed for 37 minutes more. They had a number of UO staff on the call. To me, it would have made more sense to get an overview of UO that encompassed what UO is, which is a LOT more than dungeon crawling and killing reds in Fel. What about the detailed crafting system that we have, the gardening system with hundreds of plants to plant, the unique custom housing system, some of the solo areas that people CAN play without a huge group of people, the vendors (singles and malls) – all of the things that make UO unique and have kept it alive for coming up on 15 years? The guy leading it wasn’t prepared and didn’t setup the amazing hotbar ahead of time to make him useful in the battle. They didn’t go to some of the unique places on any shard. They didn’t interview any players or talk to the vast RP communities that exist.
If I had never played UO before, and was judging the game based on this broadcast, I would never play it.
