The Tailoring skill has the following parameters for skill use and skill gain:

• When most items first become available to be made, they are at 50% chance of success.
• Chance to make increases 0.2% per 0.1 skill gained.
• Skill gains are best between 60% & 80% chance of success, but the comparative materials cost often makes training using certain items more cost-efficient up to the point that the Power Scroll used would allow (for example, Oil cloths).
• Without having used a Power Scroll of Tailoring, an item will no longer give gains at the point where the item (without the influence of a talisman) would be at a 100.0% chance of success.
• If a Power Scroll of Tailoring has been used, then an item will no longer give gains, when the theoretical chance of success reaches a percentage equal to the Power Scroll value (105 Power scroll = 105% chance of success, etc.). This translates to an additional 2.5 skill for each 5 points over 100 of the Power Scroll of Tailoring. However, the displayed chance is capped at 100.0%, making it difficult to determine what one’s upper bound for a gain is at a glance.
• Below 95 skill, and above 100 skill, one can use the Chance to exceptionally craft an item in the crafting tool gump (with any talisman removed) to judge what the theoretical chance to craft is. For 95 skill and below, the theoretical chance is the Exceptional chance + 60%. Above 100 skill, the theoretical chance is the Exceptional chance + 45.
• Between 95 & 100 skill, Exceptional Chance increases 0.5% per 0.1 skill. This is an artifact of the crafting system prior to the introduction of Power Scrolls. This makes the math for determining the theoretical skill via the displayed Exceptional Chance much more complicated, and is one of the reasons this table was created. The entries with a blue background are items where the maximum skill gain point falls in the 95.1 to 99.9 range.
