The Primeval Lich Lever Puzzle

levers 1 levers 2

In The Stygian Abyss at the Primeval Lich spawn there is a set of levers. These levers when switched in the correct order will give the person who solves it one of the eligible environmental items as a reward.

These Levers are located inside the large building to the East of the altar. Upon entering the building the switchs are located along the west wall of the two rooms that flank the entry. the switches are red, white, black, blue, purple, green, gold, and pink. This puzzle can only be completed once per active spawn. so if you get the message “the puzzle has already been completed” you will have to wait until the spawn is completed in order for it to reset.

That being said. The best thing I can equate this to would be a larger version of the mastermind board game. If you know what that is then you will probably figure this out quick. each switch must be turned in the correct order. once this is accomplished the reward will spawn in your pack.

There are 8 switches but only 6 of the eight are actually used in the solution. 2 of the switches are dummy switches and will randomly teleport you out into the spawn area. once you know what two are the dummy ones just forget they are even there. (side note once the dummy switch has been used it will also reset the count on the switches. i.e. if you have flipped 3 switches then hit the dummy switch. when you get back to the switches you will be starting as if you have not switched any.

ok so here is the rundown on the messages that you get to tell you what number of switches you have in the correct location/order.

0 correct – “Pulling the levers out of order will get you nothing. fool!”

1 correct – “A monkey could do better than this.”

2 correct – “Perhaps you are smarter than a boura.”

3 correct – “Three in a row, I bet you mother is proud.”

4 correct – “Four snore”

5 correct – “Lesser beings never get this far”

you solved it – “No! It must not be! It cannot be! It’s MINE!”

My method to figure it out is this.

usually I figure out the dummy switches in this example (from the puzzle I did earlier today) the Blue and Purple switches are dummies so therefore ignored for the rest of this puzzle. I then pick 2 switches to start with and advance the order through it until I know what the correct position of the lever is. for example the red (R) and white (W) switches.

R, W, W, W, W, W, = “A monkey could do better than this.” (1 correct)

W, R, W, W, W, W, = “A monkey could do better than this.” (1)

W, W, R, W, W, W, = “A monkey could do better than this.” (1)

W, W, W, R, W, W, = “Pulling the levers out of order will get you nothing. fool!” (0)

At this point I know that the 4th switch is White because it is telling me that I have 0 of the switches in the right spot. Since the red switch is now occupying a location that I previously had white in and had 1 switch correct. Since the red switch is still unknown I usually will continue the process until I find the red switch location.

W, W, W, W, R, W, = “A monkey could do better than this.” (1)

W, W, W, W, W, R, = “Perhaps you are smarter than a boura.” (2)

At this point I know that the red switch is in the 6th position. From here I will move to another pair of switches and repeat the process. For example the pink(P) and Gold(G).

G, P, P, P, P, P, = “Perhaps you are smarter than a boura.” (2)

Here I get lucky and am able to figure out that the gold switch is in the 1st position. now I know the 1st, 4th, and 6th. I continue the process to figue out the location of the pink lever. Keeping in mind the only locations i need to check now are the 2nd, 3rd, & 5th.

G, P, G, G, G, G, = “Perhaps you are smarter than a boura.”

Lucky again as I know now that the pink switch is in the 2nd position.

all that remains are green (Gr) and black(B). since they are on separate sides of the entry I will use the gold (G) switch to find the green location.

G, G, Gr, G, G, G, = “Perhaps you are smarter than a boura.”

This is great because we have lucked into the 3rd spot (sometimes you just get lucky) And since we know all but the 5th spot, black is used there by default.

So now we know the order:

G, P, Gr, W, B, R, = you solved it – “No! It must not be! It cannot be! It’s MINE!”

Insure your reward and get out of there. You can do this while stealthed. even the teleporting by the dummy switches does not reveal
