Looting of player character corpses, or bones, is not possible in areas which are governed by the Trammel rule set except where the player character corpse is that of a member of the NPC Thieves guild. Looting the corpse/bones of a thief is not a criminal act.
In areas governed by the Felucca rule set the looting of a corpse, or bones will flag the looter as a criminal except under the following circumstances:
- The corpse is your own
- The corpse is that of a guild mate (or party member if ‘Party can loot me’ has been selected)*
- The corpse is that of a rival, warred guild
- The corpse is that of a criminal (the name on the corpse shows in grey text)
- The corpse is that of a murderer (the name on the corpse shows in red text)
*NB if ‘Party cannot loot me’ has been selected looting the party member will flag the looter as criminal
