[EM Event] Oh the weather outside is…weird
Taryn bent over the map looking at the spot that Donal had marked. He had been analyzing the samples she’d brought back to him for days (and nights) now. There were test tubes and notes and books strewn all over the room. Taryn knew from experience that, even though the place looked like a tornado had gone through it, Donal knew right where every scrap of paper was and moving anything until he finished was inviting the possible end of all life as we know it. At least, that’s what Donal had said the last time Taryn dared to try to neaten up before he finished.
“Donal, are you sure about this?” Taryn asked hesitantly. “From everything you’ve said, this is all just the stuff of fairy tales and legend. There’s no proof this…whatever you called it…actually existed.”
“Solidahydromitamide,” Donal stated matter of factly. “Just because we’ve never found it before now doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. That and the machine it is rumored to power is really the only thing that explains everything, including the fact that the samples you brought me show strange properties that don’t match any known materials. And, the descriptions of Solidahydromitamide and it’s effects match exactly what you saw as well as this latest report.”
“Alright,” Taryn agreed. “We will go check it out. If what you think is true, then we should find evidence here where you’ve marked right?”
“Right. It should be pretty obvious if this is the cause of the strange weather phenomenon,” Donal confirmed.
Taryn rolled up the map and started for the door when she suddenly remembered the other piece of the puzzle. Turning back, Taryn asked, “And the egg? Is that connected?”
Donal paused and looked over at the table containing the fragments of egg casings that Taryn had brought back.
“I don’t think so. I think it’s a completely unrelated puzzle which we will need to solve. But the strange weather patterns puzzle me most of all right now. As long as this creature, Zippy, no Ziffy, no Sippy, oh, whatever it’s name is, keeps the egg in storage, we can work on that later,” Donal stated firmly.
Chuckling, Taryn said to herself as she waved good bye to Donal, “Zippy, yeah, that little winged beast is Zippy alright.”
Taryn set off to see about gathering some help checking out the spot Donal indicated on the map. It seemed rather doubtful to her but, then again, most of Donal’s plans did right up to the moment he was proven right.
