Meet Lord Jahajx Jov, Governor of Trinsic

September 09, 2014 By: Tamais Category: Lake Austin News

Lake Austin Shardpic for report

I was walking with Governor Jahajx Jov on the city walls. When we stopped to enjoy the view, I had opportunity to interview him. “Governor, your city is no doubt one of the shining gems in Britannia. What makes Trinsic unique?”

Smiling at me, Governor Jov looked around the city pointing out the city walls and large dock area. ” Trinsic is the only truly fortified city. We can withstand attacks that would leave other cities in ruin. We also boast arguably the finest deep water port facilities in the realm.

What makes Trinisic special to you?”

He smiled as he remembered events from the past. “In my younger years I was an active member of the West Trinsic Trade organization, a group of complimentary vendors. We worked together to promote each other’s businesses. I was the organization’s scribe and magery supplies specialist. I was also part of the city guard that ousted Juo’Nar during the undead invasion of Trinsic.”

“Now that the Traversis threat has been removed, what is you vision for your city?”

“Thanks to the help of the Royal spies and guard, we were able to drive out the Traversis.” He paused in thought, “Now is a time for rebuilding. My vision is to change Trinisic into prosperous center of trade and with a vibrant community. Since, I took office, we have entered have a trade deal with the guild of arcane arts. This deal has allowed our mages to increase the damage of their spells by 5%. While that doesn’t seem high, it made a difference in our battle against the Traviesty.  Also I am currently  talking with the other Governors. I hope to develop trade routes with them.” He explained.

Smiling at the Governor, “May I ask some questions that are more personal?”

“But of course,” he replied. “What would you like to know?”

Looking at my notes  I asked, “What city were you born in?”

” 16 years ago, I was born on the eastern docks of Vesper and I grew up hunting in the surrounding forests. A part of me will always call Vesper home. ” he fondly said.

“I know you are very busy as Governor.  Before being elected Governor, what other jobs did you hold?” I asked.

He laughed, ” I have worn many hats over the years. Guild Master, IDOC hunter, Resource Vendor, Real Estate Mogul, Bar Tender, Spawner and Teacher of new players just to name a few. You would also be hard pressed to find a skill that I have not mastered at least once. I am still very involved in teaching new players and heading my guild.” He continued, “I am the founding member of the Canadian Brew Crew (EH?). We started in the lands of Atlantic many years ago and moved to lake Austin shortly after its lands opened. I’ve been the guild master since we formed; so roughly 15 years. ”

I looked at him in amazement. “With all of your commitments, do you find time to relax?”
Nodding at me, he replied, “As odd as it sounds, I quite enjoy a quiet hunt in some out of the way place with friends; which I suppose lately would consist of excursions into the abyss. Nothing is as fun than exploring and hunting with a friend.”

Just then one of the builders called to him. “Alas I only have time for one more question. I need to return to the overseeing of the repairs.”

“My last question is, ” What would you say to the citizens of Britannia?”

“I would say to them, Get out and be more active in your home city! We have an excellent council of Governor’s this term and there are trade deals a plenty for citizens to utilize. It would also be great to see everyone out to join the Friday night hunts. The proceeds of these hunts are sent to one of the cities to assist in the funding of trade deals. I will make announcements regarding the activities in Trinsic on a weekly basis during before our Royal Spy meetings. If anyone has any need to get in touch with me I can typically be found in the lands most evenings. ”

“Wonderful advice,” I said bowing, “Thank you so much for this chance to talk to you. Be safe in your travels.” I watched as he left, then once again looked around at the beauty that is the city of Trinsic.

(Player Event) Shard Public Auction

April 21, 2014 By: Flair Category: Siege Perilous News

On Saturday, 10th May at 3pm Eastern, the representatives of the King’s Council will be holding a shard public auction in order to give the people of Siege an opportunity to trade goods, promote shard interaction, and raise money for town treasuries. If successful, the event could become a biannual event at the start of each governorship term of office (or conceivably even twice per term). This thread is intended to give advance notice of the auction; further details and the official list of lots for sale will come in May.

Venue & auctioneer

The auction will take place at Gilfane Arena and I will be acting as auctioneer. Kattasrophe is working as chief assistant and will be organizing complementary activities.

Commission & donations

The auctioneer will levy a charge of 5% on all lots sold and the money so raised [the “Town Fund”] will be split equally between the seven towns involved (Jhelom, Minoc, Moonglow, New Magincia, Skara Brae, Trinsic, Vesper). If any member of the public wishes to contribute further, then they are welcome to make additional contributions in four possible ways:

a) By donating an item(s) entirely to the Town Fund, in which case 100% of the auction sale price will go into the fund.

b) By donating an item(s) to ONE particular town, in which case the remaining 95% of the sale price will go directly to the specified town.

c) By donating an item to York’s new player vendor subsidy program, in which case the remaining 95% of the sale price will go directly to this cause.

d) By donating a lump some of cash to the Town Fund or to specified town(s). This is no different than giving cash directly to the town heralds, except that your donation will appear in the official accounts and will therefore be recorded for posterity.

Reserve Price

Items submitted for sale may be assigned a minimum price that the seller is willing to accept, although items may be rejected if the auctioneer views the reserve as unreasonably high and unlikely to lead to a sale.

Advanced bids

To aid those unable to attend the live event or find a suitable proxy, the auctioneer will take private bids in advance of the sale. Further details on this service will be posted nearer the event.

Submitting items for sale

To raise interest and awareness for the auction, the public is encouraged to announce items for sale as soon as possible. However, as the auction house will not be taking receipt of goods until May, anything so announced/listed is not final and could be withdrawn by the seller.

To submit your items, PM me here. Be sure to include any reserve prices you wish to assign the goods, although these could be changed later. All items are presumed to be for the benefit of the seller unless otherwise stated. If you wish to donate the entire proceeds of an item to one of the causes (Town Fund, individual town, subsidy program), please clearly state this. Items donated to a cause will state the name of the donor unless anonymity is specifically requested. General items for sale will not list the name of the seller unless it is necessary to do so.

If you are intending to sell low-priced items, please try and group them together where possible. What constitutes a “low price” is unclear at this point. Once official submissions are taken in May, we should have a better idea of the amount of items that are likely to be for sale and what to set the minimum requirements at.

Official accounts

A record of sale prices and all monies raised will be published after the auction. The auctioneer will deposit the money raised for each town directly with the heralds in the presence of Kattasrophe and/or another creditable witness.

Confidentiality & liability

All reserve prices, advance bids and other privileged information from sellers will be kept in confidence by the auctioneer except in the event of a new auctioneer having to be appointed due to illness or force majeure.

Final responsibility for items being sold, monies raised thereon, and the conduct of the auction, lies with the auctioneer and not the members of the King’s Council.

If anyone can suggest an amusing name for this type of auction, “Townaid” or something, please do so.

(Player Event) Open Fish Market! (Posponed to 11th)

October 10, 2013 By: Flair Category: Atlantic News

Greetings!

As we work to rebuild the Trinsic community, I would like to try an idea I had this week for an new service open to the entire realm.

The Fish Market

Where : Trinsic Docks, Trammel.
When : Friday, 11th Oct. 10pm EST -> Midnight

What It Is…

The Fish Market is a fish and bait open market and swap-meet, sponsored by Trinsic City and The Surf Shack (referred to below as the “House”).

The idea behind it is to help everyone keep their fish stocks even and functional for the professional fisher quests.

Basically the way it works is you bring along any fish, crabs, and lobsters you might have an excess of and trade them with other anglers or the House for types you are short of. For example, I always seem to have more Darkfish than I need, but never enough Orc Bass. :(

You can also sell or buy fish for gold, and we encourage people to try this out. There is even enough room for dock side stalls if you want to really make an impression. Prices are up to you, and everything negotiable, so don’t be afraid to haggle for that sweet deal.

The House will be opening the Surf Shack’s full inventory for trades, so we do have the capacity to fulfill some larger requests from guilds or other cooperative fish stocks. We will not be selling fish at the market however.

Fish are heavy. So please be sure to bring them in commodity deed form. There will be public boats available right there on the docks with a free supply of blank commodity deeds and moderated cargo holds. Hopefully this will eliminate the need to run to the bank. If you are working with smaller quantities then pack animals may suffice.

We also invite fisher folk to trade baits. There is guide below showing the approximate levels of rarity. I work a great deal with the professional fishing quest, and believe the numbers to be pretty accurate. Corrections are of course welcome.

Trades with the House will use these numbers, but trades between individual anglers are left to whatever deal is agreed upon.

Code:
FISH TYPE | Value |
=============|===========|
Shore | 250 |
Deepwater | 250 |
Dungeon | 500 |
Crab&Lobster | 1500 |
==========================

Purchases
The House will purchase fish for gold. The “Value” listed in the above chart is the house price in gold per unit. We invite other buyers to come to the market and shout their offers out loud. It adds to the fun and atmosphere, and helps the anglers of our community. The House will not change its prices to compete. These will be set at the start of the day and remain static.

Trades
Trading with the House will follow the above values. So…

Code:
Same Fish Types : 1 for 1
Shore V Deepwater : 1 for 1
Shore V Dungeon : 2 for 1
Deepwater V Dungeon : 2 for 1
Shore V Crab&Lob : 6 for 1
Deepwater V Crab&Lob : 6 for 1
Dungeon V Crab&Lob : 3 for 1

* The House may have to close its trades on a particular item if our stock becomes too depleted.
